The Summer 09 Wave: Cookie Crumbs

I'm a big fan of reality shows.

It all started with Survivor. It's not the first ever reality show. I know...But at least to me, that was the beginning of everything. I still remember Richard Hatch wearing his birthday suit while there was Susan screaming and feeling offended. Later on, every reality show had naked guys. Moreso, naked girls. I watched Survivor until I grew tired of it. I think I ended in season 10? What season is it now? No idea. 26? I don't know. I also got hooked on Amazing Race. Damn I love that show! Then there was Project Runway, America's Next Top Model and what have you. There were even these crazy dating shows that after watching it you'll just end up saying WTF?! LOL. I love how these reality shows work. It really gives you something to think about or someone you can relate to because it will show you the emotions that people are feeling at the moment. Reality shows created a world for itself, veering away from the typical sitcom or the telenovela that has no ending. One show that is constantly on my tube is American Idol. Hello?! It's like the biggest and most popular TV show there is!

I love music!

I love it so much that if you ask me what material thing would I be most sad about if it gets lost, I'd answer my iPod (knocks on wood). I don't create music and I'm the worst singer in the world. But just listening to it...Aaahhh! Everything can just go away when you listen to music. It can create emotions for you. It can help you express something you can barely say. It's an answer to our problems! LOL. Music!

= The Love for American Idol

Watching people who rise from rags to riches and become a star just makes my day. This is what the show does and I appreciate that very much because it also gives me reason to go for the dreams I have. It becomes an inspiration for me to set out into the world and show that if others can do it, I also can. It is also in this show that I realized that music and reality are odd matches with each other but at the same time it can produce a very good combination. I consider music as an escape, so maybe I can say it's from another dimension. While reality, well, it's reality. How else would you explain that.

Of all the contestants I've seen in the show, David Cook, the winner of the seventh season, is the one I can personally call my American Idol. I love watching and listening to him because he never fails to give a chilling performance or something that is very warm that would go straight into you heart. Okay am I still making any sense? I know a lot would disagree or would even say that there are better singers. I wouldn't argue with that. That's true. I mean, I'm not even saying that he is my most favorite artist out there but whenever I compare him to the other singers who joined the show or simply say whenever I listen to his music, he's by far the most raw and real.

I consider this summer as the best one I had because apart from my getaways, I actually had the chance to watch David live! I enjoy watching concerts because you can finally say that the artist is breathing the same air as you are! LOL. I went with my sister because she's also a fan and I must say we did not feel any disappointment because he was such a great performer. He rocked out if he needed to rock. He felt pain when there was pain in his songs. He sang the songs that the people loved to hear. He smiled, oh that smile. I could go on and on now. He danced. No, he didn't LOL. He talked to the crowd, even went down the stage to get the fans' cameras and have his picture taken using those. He promise he'd go back! I wish he does! I had a bad hangover case the weeks after the concert because he brought so much happiness to the crowd.

I very much believe he'd come back. He just needs to. LOL. When that time comes I'll no longer be in the second best section of the concert's seating arrangement. I'll be in the best section, the best place for the best Idol I'll ever consider :)

Ciao!
